"Some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity..." -Gilda Radner

True comedy is being shadowed upon. The comedic legends are not recognized for paving the way for comedy today. Maybe I'm the one my age who cares about it, but I think that's what makes me different. Saturday Night Live is a huge part of my life and has influenced me in so many ways. I would just like to thank Lorne Michaels. The man who started this show. The man who opened my eyes to true comedy. Because of him I started watching classic comedy movies and television shows. I can't gossip with anyone about SNL or even my favorite movie (Caddyshack) because the new generation of people I have grown up with are not educated with this sort of knowledge.
Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray are people that should be recognized. These people would be the ones I would chose if I could ever have a celebrity lunch with. I am truly inspired by all of their creativity.  Of course there is many more great comedians throughout the course of the show that I absolutely love, but these led and taught the way to the new comedians we know and love today. They just need to be recognized by our generation, not just our parents generation. Their sense of humor may be dated to some, but it's just what I love. Just watch the point to counterpoint weekend update (Jane you ignorant...), Nerds, Right to the Extreme Stupidity League, Debby Downer, Cowbell, Mary Katherine Gallagher, etc.
These are iconic skits and after watching them, I hope people can feel the same way about SNL as I do.
