Multitasking
While trying to have a fun filled weekend, a Newark Charter School student remembered she had a blog due at midnight on Friday. She sat down at her computer and tried to brainstorm ideas because she did not use her time wisely in class to come up with a creative idea. Different ideas rushed through her mind as she looked down and picked up her phone. Instantly she was hooked into social media and did not look back up for over a half hour. She forgot all her ideas and had to go back to brainstorming. It got to the point where a ten minute assignment took her at least an hour. She got up and decided to go do other things but always had the burden of finishing her blog on her shoulder. Multitasking got to her. She just needed to sit down and finish what she started. So she did. The distracted student went back to her laptop and finally finished her assignment all this time later. Maybe if she just focused more, her blog post could have been finished days ago.
